A different kind of love: Give your Valentine a gift with heart.
Sick of wasting money on tacky Valentine’s Day gifts?
Let’s be honest, no one actually like those naff cards or edible undies.
Fortunately, this year, you can buy your beau a present that spreads the love in a more meaningful way.
Use Linkey to help a homeless person feel the dignity we all deserve.
Today, Britain faces a homelessness crisis: the number of people sleeping rough in England reached 4,751 this year – the highest number since current records began.
And London has more ‘homeless hotspots’ than any other city in the UK.
This is why Linkey launched last December – an online store that delivers life-changing products like toiletries, sleeping bags and clothes to homeless shelters across the capital.
Now, ahead of Valentine’s Day, its sibling founders Josh Adley and Natasha Langleben have put together a £8 ‘Valentine’s pack’ to help you show “a different kind of love”.
This bundle includes a selection of gender-neutral products – gloves, deodorant, shower gel, a toothbrush and toothpaste.
“Spread love to those who need it this Valentine’s Day,” say the Linkey team.
We think it’s a fab idea.
Adley and Langleben started Linkey as a non-profit after trying and failing to help an elderly man find a homeless shelter where he could stay last Christmas.
“This one meeting along with other interactions with homeless people struck a chord,” the duo say on the Linkey website.
They set up an Amazon Wish List of essential items and raised £2,000 to donate items, but decided to start Linkey so people like you and I could continue to show our compassion throughout the year.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, shopping on Linkey doesn’t mean you have to scrap that romantic meal out.
But why not swap that box of chocolates for a gift with real heart?
